Lab1 is an independent digital product design studio from Gdansk, Poland. We work with ambitious teams across Europe and beyond, helping them turn complex challenges into digital experiences that feel remarkably simple. We believe great design is where thoughtful problem-solving meets exceptional craft. Where every interaction has a purpose, every detail matters, and beautiful interfaces make genuinely useful products even better.

From EV charging and enterprise software to AI-powered experiences, we work across industries, often becoming part of our clients’ teams for years rather than months. Different products. Different challenges. The same obsession with getting things right.

Everybody here is senior, nobody is finished

We’ve deliberately built a small team of experienced designers who care deeply about their craft. People who can challenge an idea, navigate complexity, collaborate with engineers, and obsess over the last few pixels. There’s no unnecessary hierarchy between our clients and the people doing the work. Just direct conversations, shared ownership, and designers who take responsibility for what they create.

But experience doesn’t mean having all the answers. We stay curious, challenge our assumptions, and keep learning from each other. Because the moment you think you’ve mastered design is probably the moment you stop getting better at it.

We are each other’s second opinion

Great design rarely happens in isolation. We share unfinished work, challenge each other’s decisions, and have the kind of conversations that make good ideas significantly better. Sometimes that means questioning an entire direction. Sometimes it’s spending twenty minutes discussing a single interaction.

We care about the thinking behind the work as much as the work itself. And we believe that honest feedback, given with respect, is one of the most valuable things a designer can offer another designer. We take the work seriously. Ourselves, a little less.

Lab1 is built around people who genuinely enjoy working together. Trust, curiosity, good humour, and the freedom to speak openly make a difference. Not just to how we feel at work, but to the quality of what we create.

We make time to meet, exchange ideas, share experiences, and occasionally forget about Figma altogether. It’s these relationships that make us more than a collection of talented individuals. They make us a studio.

Not everything worth remembering happens in front of a screen. There have been surprise sailing trips along the Baltic coast, kayaking adventures interrupted by thunderstorms, and an evening when everyone painted a portrait of someone else in the team. Those portraits are still with us. Some are surprisingly good. Others are proof that being a talented digital designer doesn’t automatically make you a talented painter. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
