We’re a design studio founded by talented designers who put quality first. We don’t do mediocre work. We only take on projects where the client is fully on board with our design process, including key stages like empathizing, identifying the right problems, research, ideation, prototyping, UI design and user testing — then REPEAT. We work with leading brands like Cognite, Rezolve and Dynatrace, designing mobile and web applications used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. We’re currently looking for a Senior UI Designer to represent Lab1 on a project for one of our clients. You’ll be part of a great international team led by a brilliant Product Manager, with plenty of room to grow professionally. You’ll also work alongside highly skilled developers on exciting, high-impact projects — mobile apps in particular.

This is a long-term project in a product team, and it’s going to be an exciting journey!

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in UI design with a strong focus on mobile applications, including at least one year spent on a single product that you had the chance to iterate on.
• Proven experience designing native mobile apps in international, remote product teams.
• Expertise in creating and maintaining comprehensive design systems.
• Strong command of Figma, including variables (e.g. for dark mode) and responsive layouts.
• Hands-on use of AI tools in daily design work — Figma AI, generating assets and illustrations, exploring copy and layout variants — with the eye to keep the results on brand instead of generically AI-looking.
• Experience designing interfaces for AI features: streaming and “thinking” states, output the user can edit, regenerate or undo, sources and confidence indicators, and graceful failure when the model gets it wrong — along with the design system components that support all of it.
• Excellent collaboration skills, especially when working closely with developers to make sure designs are implemented smoothly.
• A solid portfolio of mobile UI design work, with examples of apps that are or have been live in the App Store.
• Experience with usability testing and analyzing user feedback.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have:

• Illustration skills and the ability to create micro-animations.
• Practical knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel.
• Building coded prototypes with AI tools to align faster with developers.
• Experience scaling and mentoring design teams.
